KTV engaged Julia Curtis, social alchemist, through the Salvation Army Communities for Children program to build developmental evaluation capacity. Her May to August reflective report identified a maturing organisation with deep community trust.
Systems are being formalised through training and child-safety compliance, supported by a more reflective, values-driven board.
Children feel safe and engaged, with parents reporting trust and confidence in KTV's local programs.
Demand is growing across the Derwent Valley and Southern Midlands, with strong attendance and positive teacher feedback.
KTV is increasingly recognised as a connector, attracting donations, volunteers and engagement from larger agencies.
Rapid growth, including intake up 500%, has prompted a deliberate step back to consolidate and protect staff wellbeing.

KTV's work extends beyond the programs we directly deliver. We collaborate with young people, families, schools, community organisations, sporting clubs and government to strengthen opportunities for children and young people across the Derwent Valley.
Our whole-of-community work includes:
Actively participating in the Collaboration for Youth group and other community networks.
Working alongside youth-focused organisations to develop coordinated and sustainable programs.
Supporting minority and underrepresented groups to feel heard, included and visible.
Seeking funding and bringing organisations together to deliver community activities, including Children's Week events.
Undertaking outreach through schools, clubs, sporting groups and community spaces to better understand a diverse range of youth experiences and ideas.
Advocating to local, state and federal governments on behalf of children and young people in the Derwent Valley.
Creating opportunities for young people to contribute their views and have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them.
By building strong relationships across the community, KTV helps identify gaps, connect services and ensure the needs and strengths of local young people remain visible.
Community grants and local projects

KTV seeks and administers small grants that help schools, families and community organisations create positive opportunities for children and young people.
Jane Walker Bequest: Pizza Garden Project
Funding from the Jane Walker Bequest will support the development of five pizza gardens, creating practical opportunities for children and young people to grow food, learn new skills and connect through shared activities.
Children's Week
With support from a Children's Week grant through Playgroup Tasmania, KTV helps bring organisations, families and community members together to celebrate children and create inclusive activities across the Derwent Valley.
Small grant support
KTV also helps identify small grant opportunities and supports collaborative community projects that benefit local children, young people and families.
